I only create limited quantities of the same design with the same fabric. Everyone won't have your adornments!
Handcrafted by me - solely. Not machine made in large quantities. Crafted with care!
Abosom Artistry strives to create adornments for your style - not simple accessories that match.
Afrikan fabrics are sourced directly from the artisans in the Motherland.
At Abosom Artistry, my focus is on the ART: Ancestral Reconnection and Transformation. Guided by the Ancestors, reconnecting to their teachings and traditions - crafting with raw materials and my own hands - and being transformed in the process while promoting the transformation of others through my artistry.
You see - "Abosom" is said to be the word for "Ancestor" in one of the languages of the Bamiléké people of Cameroon. The Bamiléké tribe is very diverse and therefore many languages are present. When I did my research, this is the first of many words that was suggested and I was called to it, so I am using it.
Why use an Afrikan word for a U.S. business? Because my DNA revealed that my ancestry is from the Bamiléké tribe of Cameroon with 97% accuracy. It is a means of reconnecting to the Ancestors that guide me.
I have been creating since childhood - a passion that I never truly understood why it was so strong. But now I have a clearer picture because the Afrikan people are well known for their craftmanship of fabrics, jewelry, and other adornments. I create because it's in my blood!
My mission is to tend to my passion to create using ethically sourced, authentic Afrikan fabrics - purchased directly from the artisans residing in the Motherland of Afrika. In doing so, I am fulfilling my calling to create, supporting the Afrikan people where my roots hail from, and bringing just a bit of the Afrikan culture to the Afrikan Diaspora and beyond.
Each handbag, set of earrings and other adornment, and home decor accessory is made by my own hands. It is my commitment to ethical practices, innovation, and customer satisfaction. The Abosom Artistry handbags are made in small quantities of no more than 5. You will not see hundreds of women carrying your same bag. The same remains true for the other items in my shop, they are made in small quantities to ensure exclusivity and quality.

Abosom Artistry specializes in crafting adornments for you and your home using authentic Afrikan fabrics, sourced directly from the Motherland. We deliver expertly crafted products that make a statement and create a connection back to our Afrikan roots.
We are committed to transparency, quality, and customer satisfaction, ensuring that every step of our handcrafting is supported by our expertise and care. Discover the difference between creating out of passion for the artistry and mass produced products created to take you coin and those of millions of others purchasing the same product.

Love at first site!
The imagery and meaning behind this gorgeous wall hanging is magnificent. I didn't hesitate, I purchased it immediately!

The fact that these handbags were handmade by one person and can't be found in big box stores or places where many of the same identical handbags can be purchased is what drew me. The craftsmanship is impeccable!

The perfect addition to my winter wardrobe! I've never seen a scarf from African fabric but it sure is warm and cozy!

Our products are handcrafted by one artisan, not mass produced. All of our Afrikan fabrics - Ankara, mudcloth, kente, and more - are sourced directly from the continent of Afrika. We ensure that the original artisans of these fabrics are paid well and the fabrics are authentic. We do not use mass produced replicas. Each product is designed with the discerning customer in mind.
There are two reasons - the main reason is that much of the "Afrikan" fabrics that are available locally are not authentic. They are mass-produced replicas and this is a dis-service to the Afrikan people from which these designs originated. It is appropriation.
The second reason for sourcing directly from Afrika is to directly support the continent's artisans, cutting out the middleman. Abosom Artistry wants to put 100% of the dollars we spend for Afrikan fabrics directly in the creators' hands. Artists supporting artists.
The big name designers create exclusivity by charging outrages prices for their products. We want our products to be affordable to all. Abosom Artistry creates exclusivity by limiting the quantity of products available using the same fabrics so that our customers are not seeing their same handbag, home decor, or accessories everywhere they go.
Please note: We may use the same style in our production, but the quantities available in the same fabric are strictly limited.
Customization is available for many of our products. Please email [email protected] and include the name of the product and your desired customizations. Our sales department will respond to you within 3 business days to let you know if your requested changes are possible and the price difference, if any, for the custom work along with the production time necessary to create your custom piece.
We offer a hassle-free return policy to ensure your satisfaction. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return the product within 15 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange. Please visit our Returns & Exchanges page for detailed instructions on how to process a return.
